Japanese-Peruvian Rooftop Bar Opens in Tampa, Florida

A new and elevated rooftop cocktail bar opens May 2 in Tampa’s Bayshore neighborhood. Maru, on the seventh floor of Bayshore Gardens, fuses rich traditions of Japanese culture with the bright flavors of Peru.

In addition to panoramic views of Tampa Bay, the bar also features a Nikkei menu of seasonal small plates, ceviche, hand rolls, caviar and more. At the heart of the space is its curated beverage program boasting a selection of sparkling wines and Champagnes, as well as meticulously crafted cocktails.

The bar itself is designed with warm blonde woods and golden tones, capturing the essence of a Tampa Bay sunset. Sophisticated interiors flow out onto the semi-covered rooftop patio, creating a chic and welcoming atmosphere for social gatherings, date nights and everything in between.

Maru will be open Thursday–Sunday, 4 p.m. to midnight, and Friday and Saturday, 4 p.m.–1 a.m. Maru is an Indigo Road Hospitality Group establishment, a brand behind other well-known ventures like O-Ku and Oak Steakhouse, which feature locations in various U.S. cities.

Bayshore Gardens is a multistory complex home to offices, a ground-floor restaurant and retail outlets. The property offers quick access to Downtown Tampa via Selmon Expressway or Bayshore Boulevard.
