Grenada is currently celebrating its biggest cultural festival, Spicemas, and JetBlue currently offers additional services to the destination for travelers to enjoy the event, running through Sept. 1. The carrier offers a second daily non-stop flight from New York (JFK) on a 162-seat Airbus A320.
“We’re thrilled to welcome this expanded service from JetBlue, offering travelers more options to come to Grenada,” said Hon. Lennox Andrews, Minister for Economic Development, Planning, Tourism and ICT, Creative Economy, Agriculture and Lands, Fisheries and Cooperatives. “JetBlue has always been a committed partner and we expect a surge in bookings, as this service allows the destination and our stakeholders the opportunity to welcome even more visitors for Spicemas and showcase how Grenada honors its culture and why we’re truly the spice isle of the Caribbean.”
In addition to the JetBlue service from New York City, American Airlines offers daily, non-stop flights from Miami (MIA) and seasonal weekly flights from Charlotte (CLT) on Saturday. As family travel to the island continues to increase, JetBlue increased its regular service already for the summer season, shifting from the A320 to an Airbus A321 with 200 seats. The aircraft will be used through Sept. 5.
“The USA is the largest tourism market for Grenada and continues to perform exceptionally well. In 2022, the USA closed off the year 2% over 2019. Currently, Jan-Feb 2023, the market is up 19% over the same period in 2019 and 3% over for the same period in 2022. Grenada continues to remain committed to US tourism growth and most recently welcomed a new sales manager in New York, Ms. Shanai St. Bernard,” said Petra Roach, CEO, Grenada Tourism Authority.
