With oodles of stylish iPhone cases flooding the market, it can be hard to cut through the noise. But Trident’s new Kim Parker Aegis Design Case series is among the best.

Trident’s cases are built to last — which already make them stand out; far too many cases begin to chip and crack early on, which probably means they aren’t doing a great job of protecting your phone.

These durable Aegis cases offer “everyday protection,” meaning you can’t take them deep sea diving but they’ll stand up to run-of-the-mill activities while traveling or at home. The cases consist of a hard shell encasing a shock-absorbing silicone sleeve, with individual cut-outs for the phone’s speakers, camera, power and headphone jacks and mute button.

The volume and power buttons have silicone coverings to help keep them protected, too; this makes them slightly harder to push, but it’s a worthwhile trade-off for the protection. The cases come with a self-applicable screen protector for good measure. And they’re designed to be slim and lightweight, so there’s not much tradeoff for protecting your valuable phone.

The Kim Parker series brings colorful additions to the Aegis line — so you’re getting a lovely and fresh floral design to complement the sturdiness of the case. For all this, the $34.95 price point is reasonable.

And finally, the icing on the cake with any Trident product is the company’s commitment to the environment. The company uses eco-friendly materials like bio-enhanced resin, which makes the cases (and the packaging) degradable, compostable and recyclable. They’ll break down in about 25 years, long after you’ve moved on to the latest phone technology.
