Sunburn Alert products measure your daily dose of UVA/UVB (broad spectrum) sun exposure. The color changing bands are fully adjustable and recyclable — unfortunately, they are single use only. Save them for a trip to the waterpark or a long day at the beach rather than a normal pool outing.
Simply activate the band by exposing it to direct sun for three minutes. The band will turn dark purple. When this happens, apply sunscreen directly to the band, as you would your skin and wait 15 minutes before going in the water.
The band will turn a lighter color when it’s time to reapply sunscreen. Watch out for when the band turns cream or off-white — this means you have reached your maximum recommended UVA/UVB exposure for the day and it’s time to cover up or head inside.
