The new Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Tablet is the perfect companion for anyone wanting to work on the go. It combines all the functions of a laptop, tablet and projector in one and fits nicely into your luggage or carry-on.
The X1 Tablet includes numerous detachable modules at the base that essentially allow you to turn it into any device you need at the moment. As a bonus, it also works as a 3D camera in a pinch.
You can attach a projector device to display projects or a PowerPoint onto a hotel wall, add an extra battery to extend the life, convert it into a laptop and more. Lenovo claims it’s designed for marketing professionals and content creators, first and foremost, so it might not be necessary for those just wanting to work on their blog.
Extra modules can be purchased separately for the device depending on your needs, but they aren’t exactly cheap. One module can easily add an extra $150 to the already costly base price of $899.
On the plus side, the X1 Tablet comes loaded with ports. It has the standard USB 3.0 along with a USB-C for data and charging, a microSD port, a mini DisplayPort, a nanoSIM slot and an audio jack. That’s pretty impressive when you consider the tablet is only .51 inches thick and weighs roughly 2.5 pounds.
The Thinkpad X1 Tablet will be released later this year. Check Lenovo’s website for more details on pricing, updates on the release date and more.
