It’s no secret Canada is one of the most welcoming and inclusive countries in the world with a firm belief in equality for all. Canadians are renowned for their friendliness, after all. LGBT visitors will feel right at home crossing the border to the north.
No matter where you go, you’re likely to find an array of activities and sights to see that cater to the LGBT community. In the capital of Ottawa there’s the annual Canada Day that celebrates the inclusiveness of the country, which includes immigrants and gay citizens.
Davie Street in Vancouver is the heart of the local gay community full of shops and bars for gay men and lesbians, as well as other groups under the LGBT umbrella. Toronto is famous for the expansive and boisterous Pride celebration held each year, while WinterPride in Whistler is a must see to believe.
In Calgary, you’ll find the nation’s gay rodeo, while Montreal has a bustling gay village and club scene.
Of course, no matter where you go in Canada you’ll be treated to excellent hospitably, fun things to do, great shopping and absolutely stunning nature in and around the cities. Canada is definitely a country all LGBT travelers should have on their bucket list; the more you can see of it, the better.
