Dallas has the sixth-largest gay population in the United States and the largest in the state of Texas. There’s no shortage of things for LGBTQ visitors to see and do in this wonderful city.

Oak Lawn serves as the de facto gayborhood of Dallas with many of the restaurants and stores catering to the community, if not outright owned by a member of it. It’s also home to the annual Pride parade and where you’ll find the famed Oak Lawn Halloween Street Party.

For nightlife, there’s the ever popular Dallas Woody’s with its extravagant drag shows, or the female-friendly Sue Ellen’s, based on the popular character from a certain well-known TV show.

Cedar Springs Tap House is the place to go for a good beer during the game, or check out Hunky’s for some delicious hamburgers. Head to Lucky’s Café for a laid-back atmosphere and some Southern comfort food.

When you’re done exploring Oak Lawn, make your way over to the Bishop Arts District, where you’ll find the second-largest assortment of gay-owned stores in the city. There are plenty of galleries to keep you busy for the day.

Overall, Dallas is an exceptionally friendly city for the LGBTQ community with so many things to see and do it’ll take more than one trip to enjoy it all.
