LGBTQIA+

Pattaya has something of a sordid reputation, but it’s easily the place to go for LGBTQ travelers who want to feel comfortable in their own skin in Thailand. Away from the seedy backstreets, you’ll find gorgeous beaches, delectable eats and great shopping opportunities aimed at the gay community.

Jomtien Beach is where many LGBTQ tourists tend to flock with its array of friendly shopping areas and open atmosphere. Similarly you’ll find yourself welcome in Sunee Plaza and Boyz Town, home to most of the nightlife in the city. Boyz Boyz Boyz and the Castro Bar are two of the most popular bars in town with great performances each night.

Check out the Sandbar by the Sea, a fantastic restaurant serving up local cuisine on the Dongtan gay beach for lunch or dinner while you’re in town. If you’re here for the world-famous Thai massages, COPA Body Club and Blue House Massage are both popular gay establishments in Pattaya.

The city is fairly welcoming to tourists, both LGBTQ and straight, so you don’t have to worry too much about being yourself while visiting. Follow local laws while in town and respect the customs and you shouldn’t find yourself in any trouble.
