The festival of creativity ran on London’s Southbank from May through Sept. 25.
Arguably the main attraction was Barbu of Cirque Alfonse, a circus show that will have you marveling at the physical feats of the performers. It is one of a number of spectacular performances at the annual festival of circus, cabaret and burlesque.
If you didn’t want to see any of the shows, wander around the extensive site and have a drink or a bite to eat. Alternatively, head to the fairground for some traditional fun, swinging about on the 60-meter tall Starflyer ride and gazing down at the Southbank below.
While the shows may be aimed firmly at adults, the entire complex is open throughout the day and the atmosphere is fun and friendly. Enjoy the last of the summer with a few drinks and a show, before taking a wander down the Southbank towards the Tate Modern art gallery and Shakespeare’s Globe Theater.
The Southbank is near London Waterloo station and within easy reach of plenty of other attractions.
