Traveling is an adventure, but it can also be stressful on your mind and body. Sleep is important wherever you are, but a decent rest can be hard to come by on the road. Whether you are on a long-haul flight or an overnight bus journey, preparation is key if you want to arrive fresh.

The Loungaroo is a travel blanket with a twist. It offers some well thought-out improvements over the in-flight blankets which always seem to be slightly too small or just not thick enough.

Loungaroo blankets are made from brushed knit fleece, familiar to most people. It’s warm and hygienic thanks to an antimicrobial finish.

Instead of simply placing the blanket over your body, the makers of the Loungaroo suggest you get put your head through a poncho-style opening and put your feet into a pocket at the bottom. This helps to keep you warm no matter how much you move.

The Loungaroo also has a hood for privacy and blocking light, while a valuables pocket on the front keeps your stuff safe. There is even a headphone port so you don’t have to sleep with your device on display, and you can put your hands inside the front kangaroo pouch just like on your favorite hoody.

After use, the Loungaroo can be stuffed into the in-built bag for easy storage, or for use as a pillow in warmer conditions. A clip hook on the outside allows for easy carrying on your rucksack, and saves space inside your bag.

The Loungaroo was successfully funded on Kickstarter and will ship in April 2017. Each travel blanket costs $50 and offers an innovative solution to a common problem.
