Travelers who have experienced long layovers know all too well the skills required to successfully nap at an airport. Finding a quiet, relatively dark and empty space is just as important as finding a row of seats without armrests between each seat. However, soon airport nappers will be able to catch a few winks between flights in complete comfort thanks to MetroNaps´ new sleeping pods.
MetroNaps previously provided their signature nap pods to offices, hospitals and universities, but now the company has partnered with JetBlue to make the same style of nap pods available for travelers passing through John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, Pearson Airport in Toronto and Luton Airport in London. JFK will serve as the first home for nap pods in the United States.
The ergonomically efficient sleeping quarters will welcome travelers to a peaceful resting environment with the capability to block out external noise by feeding in soothing sounds instead, or letting sleepers plug in their own music to dream to. Storage bins let travelers securely store their luggage while they snooze, and an automatic timer will wake sleepers with a gentle incline, vibration and increasing light after the complimentary 20-minute sleeping period has finished.
