Romantic comedies are always an easy go-to for Valentine’s Day, but for a quirky rom-com, watch Bachelorette. Starring funny girls Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan,this romantic comedy is much more of a comedy than a romance. Watch childhood best friends cause chaos and comedy on the day before their best friend’s wedding. The storyline may sound familiar, but the dark, raunchy humor is definitely not.
A great feel good film to watch is Cuban Fury with Rashida Jones, Chris O’Dowd and Nick Frost. This underrated comedy is cute, funny and great for couples or groups of friends. This unassuming rom-com has all of the dancing, fighting and dry British humor one could ask for.
Sleeping with Other People is another twist on a classic romantic comedy with the tag line, “A romantic comedy with commitment issues.” The film was written and directed by the same writer/director of Bachelorette, Leslye Headland, and starsstarring Jason Sudeikis and Alison Brie. It is a modern take on relationships and a couple’s movie that is definitely worth the watch.
For a good old-fashioned list check out the classics like When Harry Met Sally, Notting Hill, Roman Holiday, While You Were Sleeping or really anything starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.
