Reviews / Restaurant

Nestled between two of Barcelona’s most vibrant neighborhoods is a bar and restaurant that brings together locals and visitors in a celebratory environment. Mr. Robinson is a travel-themed venue part restaurant, part bar and part late-night watering hole.

Beachgoers who soaked up the sun in Barceloneta and shoppers who spent the afternoon browsing boutiques in El Born can make Mr. Robinson their end-of-the-day destination. Whether for a creative take on traditional Spanish tapas or a refreshing cocktail, the breezy, open-air restaurant welcomes all appetites and tastes.

Mr. Robinson’s food menu is as diverse as its global theme would suggest. A unique twist on patatas bravas and a succulent starter of octopus can accompany main dishes like Swedish meatballs, ceviche and a veal sirloin.

Ask for a cocktail menu and you’ll be handed a passport-style booklet with a different location’s cocktail on each page. Sample the Buenos Aires: gin, raspberry, lemon juice, sugar, egg white and a splash of cherry bitters. Or opt for the Myanmar, a mixture of three rums, apple-and-cinnamon compote, lime juice and Angostura bitters.

Stay for a late-night party as DJs set up in the front window and play music into the wee hours of the morning. A few hours after the bar closes, come back to nurse your hangover with Mr. Robinson’s extensive brunch menu that features waffles, pancakes, egg dishes, smoothie bowls and freshly pressed juices.
