Pike Place Market in Seattle, Wash., is one of the largest and most popular public markets. Opening in 1907, Pike Place has an amazing spread of ethnic cuisine, local fare and quirky gifts. The flower market is a top draw to Pike Place with fresh arrangements for a reasonable price.

Charleston Farmers Market in Charleston, S.C., is open April through December in Marion Square. Along with local meats, veggies and handmade pasta, this market also has vintage jewelry and gifts for sale. The beautiful square adds a hometown feel to this expansive and growing market.

Eastern Market in Washington, D.C., has been selling local goods since 1873 on Capitol Hill. Fresh produce, seafood, flowers, handmade goods and more will be on sale year-round, six days a week in Eastern Market’s indoor and outdoor venue.

Sweet Auburn Curb Market in Georgia has been in business since 1923 in downtown Atlanta. This market features fresh produce, restaurants and local vendors within the indoor venue to protect merchants, visitors and produce from the heat.

Union Square Greenmarket is a fresh produce haven for NYC residents. The market is open year-round on Mondays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and opens some Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays offering a variety of fresh produce, herbs and spices.
