Venture to Nantucket, the tiny, isolated and picturesque island off of Cape Cod, and celebrate the region’s unofficial flower, the return of spring and your inner hippie at the annual Nantucket Daffodil Festival.
This quirky festival, held April 28–30, celebrates spring awakening on the island and kicks off with its keynote event, the Antique Car Parade, where more than 100 vintage cars decked in bright yellow daffodils caravan down Main Street. The first occasion was held in the 1970s to welcome the new season, and now, decades later, the festival features art shows, dance performances, historic sightseeing tours, lively parades, exhibitions, contests and a popular tailgate picnic following the car parade in ‘Sconset.
The artistic theme for this year’s show is Earliest Structures on Nantucket, celebrating the island’s historic architectural landmarks and distinctive homes.
While you’re in town, enjoy the dune-backed beaches Siasconset and Madaket, the wharves, charming cobblestone streets and steeples churches as well as the town’s high-end boutiques and restaurants. Book a stay at charming bed and breakfasts like the Anchor Inn and the Beachside at Nantucket, or iconic landmarks such as the White Elephant and White Elephant Village, overlooking the Nantucket waterfront.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
