Have you heard of the emerging cowboy core travel trend? In 2025, this trend took travelers to more off-the-beaten-path destinations than ever, making small-town travel more popular. One destination gaining popularity is Newnan, Georgia, just south of Atlanta.
Country music lovers can chase one of their favorite cowboys and explore the town where Alan Jackson got his inspiration. Head to downtown Newnan at 11 North Court Square to see Small Town Southern Man, a mural of Jackson designed by local painter Tim Davis.

Set out on an adventure at Chattahoochee Bend State Park and travel along the river that inspired Jackson’s first hit, “Chattahoochee.” Travelers can experience all the fun he reminisces about from his childhood and young adult life for themselves.
Go to the place Alan Jackson waited tables during high school, Sprayberry’s Barbeque. The popular restaurant opened in 1926 as a gas station before turning into a full restaurant. Word on the street is Jackson still stops in for barbecue, Brunswick Stew and lemon pie when he’s in town.

And to really immerse yourself in that cowboy lifestyle, head to Senoia for Doc Brown Farm and Distillers. Cowboys can experience farm life while sipping on a Day Swigger, a sweet bourbon drink. The farm grows Jimmy Red Corn, a southern heirloom that gives the bourbon a smooth, pre-Prohibition taste.
