Last year, Nintendo released the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) Classic, a mini version of the original NES preloaded with classic games. The company made a limited supply and it quickly sold out.
In 1991, Nintendo unveiled the Super NES along with some of the best video games ever, including Final Fantasy III, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Star Fox, Street Fighter II, Super Mario Kart and Super Mario World.
A huge portion of video gamers view Super Nintendo as the best video game console of all time. However, many people from the latest generation have not experienced these classic games and storylines that were the genesis for the games they know and love. The Super NES Classic Edition enables new gamers to experience Nintendo’s masterpieces for the first time and old gamers to enjoy them all over again.
Nintendo plans to release the Super NES Classic Edition this Sept. 29, with 21 preloaded games. It is a mini version of the original Super Nintendo that plugs into any HD TV with an HDMI cord. The system also comes preloaded with Star Fox 2, previously unreleased. The Super NES Classic Edition will retail at $79.99.
