The HyperAir GTX jacket is billed as the most breathable waterproof jacket the company has ever made, and is designed to keep wearers dry from both rain and sweat as they exercise. Everyone knows the uncomfortable feeling of stepping outside in a rain jacket before getting uncomfortably sweaty within minutes of moving around, and GORE-TEX Active offers a solution.
Thanks to an outer surface which constantly repels water, the jacket has no need for a second layer of fabric. As a result it’s the lightest and most breathable fabric Gore-TEX has ever made, without sacrificing its waterproof and wind-proof qualities.
It promises to eliminate the accumulation of moisture that can sometimes make it seem pointless wearing a rain jacket. The so-called permanent beading outer fabric repels moisture constantly and shakes dry, meaning your jacket will not get chilly as it absorbs water.
The North Face HyperAir GTX Jacket is the company’s first to use the new fabric, and was released on the North Face website Dec. 15 for $249.
