Peer-To-Peer Dining

Food & Drink

The best moments in life involve food, am I right? A new travel trend that’s sweeping the kitchens is the opportunity for “peer-to-peer dining,” where you can request or invite people to share a meal at your table with people from all over the world.

It’s like AirBnb for food, where dinner parties turn into new encounters with new friends. This is a new way to immerse yourself in your travel experience without dropping your entire budget at a popular restaurant on a main strip, and maybe you’ll make some new friends for life.

There are tons of ways to connect, but the basic model for each service is roughly the same. Some are highly involved, and include menus, directions for parking and ask participants to leave reviews of their experience. Some have strict food safety guidelines, and others require certifications. Some connect you to bonafide chefs themselves who invite you away from the restaurant and into their homes! Choosing how to take part in this trend all depends on what you’re most comfortable with.

Are You Ready for the Final Switch to Real ID?

Yesterday, TSA began enforcing new identification guidelines, a change that’s been a long-time coming. Now, travelers must show a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued ID in order to fly on domestic flights, in lieu of a non-compliant driver’s license (some other forms of identification, such as passports, will still be acceptable).
