Tips / Travel

The summer days are winding down. If you haven’t taken a vacation this season, it’s not too late to enjoy a few days of rest and relaxation right in your hometown. For some, taking a staycation is just as fun and rejuvenating as planning an exotic, faraway trip.

Go Off Peak

Is that really good bagel place down the street always busy early in the mornings? Take advantage of hitting up great local spots at off hours. If you can never make it to your favorite local bar’s happy hour, plan to arrive right when it starts.

Work It

For some, squeezing in exercise during the work week can be tricky. Take advantage of visiting your gym at your leisure. If your gym offers classes, sign up for one you’ve always wanted to try. Or seek out an exercise studio offering the type of class you want. Many studios offer drop-in options.

Make a Bucket List

Take this time to visit local attractions in your town you’ve been meaning to see. Check out a museum, take a walking tour, go for a run through a popular park, grab lunch at a new restaurant or simply explore a new neighborhood.

Find a Deal

Sign up for a service like LivingSocial, Groupon or Yipit to search for the best deals in your area.
