Venture into the unknown with the help of expert guides on an REI Adventure Tour. Get active this summer while exploring a few new destinations, including Portugal, Greece, Spain and the Great Smoky Mountains on a summer trek.
This seven-day hike brings active travelers from the old-world streets of Lisbon to the stunning beaches of the Algarve, and back. This trip includes six nights in various hotels along the way and is a three on REI’s difficulty meter. Enjoy the rugged and diverse beauty of Portugal’s cities and coastline with a small group of 4–14 like-minded travelers looking for a bit of adventure.
Visit the stunningly picturesque islands of Greece along a journey through Athens to Santorini, with stops in Naxos and Tinos. This eight-day excursion boasts historic sites, white-washed village homes, endless views of the ocean and quintessential Grecian locales. Also a three on REI’s difficulty level, this trek hosts groups of 4–16.
Camino de Santiago – Spain Hiking
While this tour name may be a mouthful, it’s actually pretty accessible for moderate hikers. This nine-day journey brings guests through Asturias, along the north coast of Spain, over to Monte del Gozo and Cape Finisterre, to name a few. This stunning hike excursion showcases ancient trails to old-world cathedrals and rugged beauty. Group sizes range 4–14.
Great Smoky Mountains Adventure
On the shorter side, but certainly not lesser, hikers can explore the Great Smoky Mountains on a four-day trek. Visit the iconic Appalachian Train, Civil War Roads and exceptionally beautiful scenic hikes and zip line tours, along with a white-water rafting excursion on the Nantahala River. Also a three on REI’s difficulty level, it hosts 4–12 guests at a time.
