Trends / Top Trends

After so much experimentation in 2017 with monochromatic looks, metallic eyes and dimensional lips, 2018 takes a step back in time. Though it is not exactly a turn to the natural make-up look, a retro vibe is definitely here. Bullet lipsticks, thick eyelashes á la Twiggy and bold eyeliner like Audrey Hepburn are definitely taking center stage this year. The return to these looks is a little nostalgic, but also classically bold while also being economically efficient — no small feat when it comes to beauty trends.

A return to bullet lipsticks is a turn away from liquid matte brands. This is a return to a classic look in form and practice. Besame makes a bullet lipstick that captures the glamour and high quality this product needs to embody.

Thick eyelashes on the top and bottom are being embraced by makeup brands and you are also seeing the necessary tools out on the market. Brands like Benefit and Too Faced developed stouter applicators with smaller, more dexterous wands for application on the upper and lower lashes.

And lastly, the goof-proof cat eye is more popular than ever and getting a modern twist by adding a rounded edge instead of sharp line, or outlining the whole eye instead of just the lid to give it a contemporary turn.
