When one thinks of burgers, a lot of things come to mind: artery-clogging grease, ketchup and mustard, maybe some lettuce and ground beef. Most people like to keep them simple and clean. Not at Skaptoburger. Here, all the burgers are gourmet creations of grandeur and delectable tastes.

After reading the reviews online I figured they had to be exaggerating a bit with all the raving over a simple burger joint, but it turns out this place is pretty darn fantastic. As a fan of Mexican food, I had to try the El Chapo, a glorious piece of meat wrapped in lettuce and generously covered in guacamole and salsa. Of course, I got a side of fries to go along with it. They came out with ranch for dipping rather than ketchup, which sounds weird to American ears but it turns out they taste pretty great!

The atmosphere here is casual though it gets so packed you might want to make a reservation. It’s just that popular. They also offer salads and some veggie burgers for those meatless diners out there.

Overall, I highly suggest you check it out next time you find yourself wandering the streets of Sofia. It’s centrally located and pretty hard to miss; just look for the line out the front door.
