My flight to Aruba was slightly delayed and I was eager to check into The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba. I enjoyed a glass of Champagne during the swift check-in process. I left my suitcase with one of the porters and a friendly front desk attendant accompanied me to my room on the fourth floor.
My room boasted an oceanfront view, with a beautiful vantage point of the property, beach and ocean below. The room had a king bed, large desk with convenient outlets, separate tub and shower in the bathroom and a balcony with a table and two chairs. I always appreciate complimentary WiFi at hotels and the connectivity at The Ritz was impressive, even on the beach!
The on-site gym features a nice mix of cardio equipment and weight machines. I also noticed a small room with yoga mats and other gear for stretching exercises. The windows face the ocean, which made my workout more pleasant. Non-motorized water activities are complimentary at The Ritz-Carlton; however, I much preferred lounging on the beach and floating in the water.
During my stay I utilized each of the property’s dining venues: Solanio, BLT Steak, Madero Latin Grill and Divi Bar & Lounge. Each outlet offered a different vibe. It’s impossible to pick a favorite, but the lobster ravioli from Solanio, steak from BLT Steak, fish tacos from Madero Latin Grill and sushi from Divi Bar & Lounge were standouts.
My favorite part of the stay was my spa treatment. The spa facilities are beautiful, featuring a separate private steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi and lockers for women. I was lucky enough to get a sneak preview of a new treatment: Misterio di Aloe. Employing natural aloe products, my therapist, Robyn, gave me a body massage and foot reflexology treatment. I only wish Aruba was closer so I could have all of my spa treatments at The Ritz-Carlton!
