A new, luxury eco-resort opens soon, on Sept. 1, near the Grand Canyon.
The glamping-style resort, , sits in northern Arizona’s backcountry, surrounded by pine forests. The tents — which hardly look like tents — are outfitted like suites, with multiple spaces, indoors and out. Large, panoramic windows and skylights allow you to take in the natural scenery, regardless of the weather.
Climate control keeps you comfortable. The only reason you might ever need to leave your tent is to enjoy farm-to-table cuisine at the resort’s restaurant, or to enjoy the luxe common spaces, such as the beach or spa. On-site activities abound, but, of course, you’re close to lots of Arizona’s best attractions, too, such as the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff and Sedona.
If you’re one of the first travelers to stay at this new property, you can save 20 percent off your room rate if you book your tent before Aug. 15, for stays throughout the rest of the year (barring blackout dates and holidays). Just use code grandopening when booking. You have several rooms to choose from, from the standard Backland Suite, with its king and queen beds to sleep four travelers, to the expansive Grand Sky Suite, which sleeps six and is ideal for families with its twin bunk beds.
If you have kids in the house, you likely already know what a challenge it can be anytime they come into the kitchen. Whether they want to help with a batch of chocolate chip cookies or you’re just trying to make any ol’ dinner, messes — and maybe a few tears — are likely to ensue. Baketivity helps families streamline the kids-in-the-kitchen experience, with baking kits featuring everything you need, as well as easy directions, so you can enjoy more treats and fewer tears. This summer, it has even given its subscription boxes a travel twist, focusing on sweet treats from countries like Sweden, Mexico and Italy.
United Airlines remains firmly committed toward sustainability in aviation. The latest development in its eco-conscious goals includes working with Oxy Low Carbon Ventures to commercialize the production of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) with biotech firm Cemvita Factory. Cemvita looks to develop a revolutionary new way to produce SAF by using carbon dioxide and synthetic microbes. Additionally, United Airlines Ventures (UAV) recently announced an equity investment in Fulcrum, and United has invested more in SAF production than any other airline in the world.
