There’s hardly a more calming feeling than sipping a soothing adult beverage as you soar through the skies, setting your nerves at ease as the clouds pass by your window. Unfortunately, the brew selection on airlines doesn’t quite match the options on your microbrewery’s menu. Scandinavian Airlines, in partnership with a Scandinavian brewery, will soon roll out an airline-only craft beer for passengers who travel in business class, catering to those who consider themselves craft beer connoisseurs.
SAS and Mikkeller (a microbrewery from Denmark) will debut a Belgian-style ale called Sweet and Sour, a beer with a wisp of Asian inspiration thanks to the founder of Mikkeller’s love for the culture. Influenced by the sights and tastes of Hong Kong, Sweet and Sour will feature hints of mango combined with the sour notes of fermented beer. After aging in barrels for two years, the ale is then re-fermented with mango juice for just a small amount of sweetness.
Exclusively in business class on SAS flights, travelers can enjoy a refreshing, tropical glass of the beverage when flying to and from Hong Kong on the south coast of China. The beverage will not be available anywhere else, not even in the airport, so travelers can imbibe in a one-of-a-kind brew as they make their way to a warmer climate. Cheers to sky-high exclusivity!
