New walking tours from Walk Japan allow you to immerse yourself in the country’s culture and communities on a deeper level as you travel from interest point to interest point on foot.

For example, the Salt Road tour follows a trade route from Matsumoto to the Sea of Japan over nine days, taking you through the rural countryside. A gastronomy tour takes you through Central Honshu as you explore the area’s rustic cuisine. Another gastronomy-focused tour takes you from the Onsen hot spring capital of Japan and through northern Kyushu as you explore local agriculture. The Tokaido Wayfarer tour contrasts historic with modern-day Japan as you follow an ancient thoroughfare that connects Kyoto to Tokyo.
Tours are available for a range of activity levels and interests, and are a mix of guided and self-guided experiences.
