Frankincense Sommelier at Shangri-La Al Husn, Muscat
In Muscat, Oman, overlooking the Gulf of Oman, Shangri-La Al Husn, an adults-only clifftop retreat, is home to the first accredited Frankincense Sommelier in Oman, Khalid Al Amri. He educates guests about the aromatic resin and its role in the country, as well as overseeing the property’s welcome experiences, guided tours and the private frankincense garden with 21 frankincense trees. Baklava Butler at Shangri-La Bosphorus
Talk about a tasty job: in Istanbul, Shangri-La’s Baklava Butler teaches guests more about Turkey’s culinary delights. The world’s first Baklava Butler, dressed traditionally, presents the historic sweet dish that dates back to the Ottoman Empire. The delicacy served at the hotel is baked to order from a specialty shop in Gaziantep, known as the birthplace of baklava.

Turtle Ranger at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah
Another Muscat property, this family-friendly resort runs a Turtle Care Project to protect endangered hawksbill and green turtle species. The on-site Turtle Ranger brings awareness to guests and the local community through educational activities like talks and viewings.

Heli-Butler at Shangri-La Le Touessrok
