If you’re too lazy to look down at your phone to check memos, messages and notifications, Sony has a solution for you — the Xperia Ear.
The Xperia Ear works as your own personal assistant, delivering important information straight to your ear so you don’t have to be burdened with stopping what you’re doing to see what’s happening on your phone. It reads back text messages, delivers pre-set memos, can give you the weather and even read news snippets to you while you’re walking to work.
It’s actually a pretty helpful little tool and a great way to help people keep their eyes on the road when they’re behind the wheel. By pressing on the Xperia and asking it for what you need, the device will send back information stored on your phone in an instant. It connects to an app so you can specify which type of notifications you’d like to receive and how many other apps on your phone it can pull information from.
It weighs only 6.8 grams and fits snugly into your ear, though we’re not sure about the long-lasting effects having an electronic device so close to your head all day long might have.
The Xperia Ear is set to be released summer 2016. Stay up to date by checking out Sony’s website.
