Budget travelers have new route options starting later this year, with Spirit Airlines announcing new service to Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport from Newark (EWR). The service begins Aug. 14, and will operate daily.

Later in the season, service to Savannah will increase further, with routes from Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Nashville (BNA) and Detroit (DTW) joining in early October. These routes will not operate daily, but instead four times weekly, three times weekly and twice weekly, respectively.

All routes will offer the low ticket prices Spirit Airlines is known for, with one-way fares as low as $59. Special introductory fares are now bookable for all routes except Savannah–Newark.

“We look forward to welcoming our Savannah guests onboard soon and offering them new, elevated travel options with unmatched value to visit exciting destinations across the East Coast and Midwest,” said John Kirby, vice president of network planning, Spirit Airlines. “Savannah is an incredible destination, and we know our guests will love exploring this coastal gem while immersing themselves in the city’s historic charm and vibrant art scene.”

“We have been working hard to get Spirit to add SAV to their route structure,” added Greg Kelly, executive director, Savannah Airport Commission. “We believe Spirit is a great fit for our market, and the cities they are adding will be a strong addition for our community and region…”
