For many travelers, outdoor adventure is all about unplugging, but for others — from photographers to bloggers to GoPro addicts — taking tech into the wild is part of the plan. Luckily, heading for the hills (or the deserts, or the forests) doesn’t have to mean sacrificing your MacBook to the forces of nature.

The STM Drifter Medium Laptop Backpack is designed for taking your electronics with you, wherever your travels take you. It features a suspended, padded laptop cell that can hold up to a 16-inch laptop and protect it against minor bumps, plus a separate tablet pocket with cord and battery storage. Though it’s a lightweight pack (under 3 pounds empty), the Drifter can seriously haul, with extra pockets both inside and out making plenty of room for cords, chargers, trail mix and anything else you’ll need. The back panel is made from 3D foam mesh, helping you keep comfortable and cool through heat, humidity or just plain exertion.

Though the STM Drifter‘s loaded with add-ons that make it ideal for the outdoors — notably the detachable rain cover, padded shoulder and sternum straps — it’s also stylish enough for the city. Whether you’re trekking across a mountain ridge or just tackling your daily commute, this pack’s got you covered.
