Trends / Study Abroad

For students looking for a diverse portfolio of opportunities available for studying around the world, the School for Field Studies offers a great opportunity to learn all about Himalayan studies in Bhutan.

This eclectic program takes place in one of the most distinctly beautiful regions of the world, with breathtaking mountain vistas and lush vegetation all around. You’re right in the heart of the Himalayas while you study for your exams. Studies here are focused on environmental conservation, particularly how it applies to the region. There are opportunities to learn all about the efforts to save the forests while also creating a prospering environment for locals in the area.

The School for Field Studies partnered with the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment to create semesters for students that teach the economical and societal impacts of the Himalayas’ environmental issues. Along the way you’ll meet some pretty amazing people who will help you explore the region’s rich cultural history and traditions.

For more information, check out the website for the School for Field Studies and learn more about its five-year research plan in Bhutan. They also have plenty of other amazing opportunities around the world for you to take part in.
