Summertime in Philadelphia means beer gardens, outdoor concerts and amazing activities scattered across the city.
The Spruce Street Harbor Park is a recent addition to the Philadelphia warm weather scene, but so successful it opened earlier this year for longer summer fun. This pop-up park features hammocks, beer gardens, an open-air roller rink, live music and boardwalk shops selling food and ice cream. The park stays open late every night and entrance is free.
Also on the boardwalk of Penn’s Landing is Morgan’s Pier. This outdoor beer garden boasts room for 500 people along the Delaware River waterfront. Guests can eat, drink, dance and attend any of the festivals throughout the summer. Morgan’s Pier has a calendar full of events including beer festivals, DJs and live party bands this summer, as well as Brain & Brawn trivia games on Mondays.
Take in the peaceful waterfront view with Race Street Pier free group yoga. Classes take place every Monday through Thursday at 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., just bring your own towel, mat and water. With more than 200 LED solar light blocks implanted into the pavement, the pier lights up at night for the newly introduced Twilight Yoga class, July 19 for the full moon.
