Napa Valley Wine Train recently announced its new Tasting on the Rails journey, offering a seven-course gourmet menu paired with seven wines from six of the region’s American Vineyard Areas.
“This exciting excursion is very special and an experience only the Wine Train can offer,” said Nathan Davis, general manager, Napa Valley Wine Train. “We’ve never done anything like this before that so well compliments [sic] and highlights the best food and wine in Napa Valley with commentary that guides each guest through the route as they learn about each unique area while sipping wine from those regions along the way. Incomparable service, food and wines enjoyed while pointing out the window of our train at the vineyards that grew the grapes that are in the glass.”
Five of the wines included in the journey come from AVAs the train route passes through, allowing guests to see the land from which the grapes they’re tasting grew. The three-hour journey, starting at $395, includes seven courses prepared by Executive Chef Rodrigo Cuadra and the wine pairings with a history provided on each location and wine.
Here’s a closer look at the offered menu:
- Amuse bouche paired with Chandon, By the Bay, Blanc de Blanc Sparkling Wine from Carneros AVA
- Frisée Arugula Salad with Chevre goat cheese paired with Charles Krug, Estate Sauvignon Blanc from St. Helena AVA
