Tatcha products have been in development since 2009, appealing to women who seek quality and calm in their skin care routine. This Japanese-American company specializes in natural beauty products rooted in a tradition of simplicity. Not only are they of the highest quality, but the packaging makes one feel like a beauty routine is a worthy investment. These products are in the medium price point —ranging from $30–70. Everything made by Tatcha gives one the feeling of a skin care ritual, not a regime. The pure camellia cleansing oil is a standard part of the collection and has the faintest smell of flowers that is in no way artificial, a welcome change from most facial oils. Its rice enzyme powder is a great exfoliator and a little goes a long way. Pour a small amount into the palm of your hand and activate with water by rubbing your hands together. The result is gently exfoliated skin soft to the touch.

One of the newest products is the Violet-C Radiance Mask. Made with Japanese beautyberry, two types of Vitamin C and AHAs, this violet-colored cream has been touted by some as the ideal “hangover cure for your skin.” Just smooth this purple mask onto your face and let it take effect for 15–20 minutes, then rinse with warm water. You can repeat the mask two to three times a week and because this is a cream, not a sheet mask, the investment is worth it. Suffice it to say, the results of this as a hangover cure have not been scientifically proven, but its reputation as a high-quality illuminating mask is undeniable.
