Analog bags might go the way of the 8-track with the latest trend of high-tech carry-on bags, equipped with phone chargers and GPS trackers. By throwing old models out the window, these luggage pieces were designed to make travel as smooth as possible, though high price tags make them harder to afford compared to buying a power bank and tracking chip.

Away wants to change all that. Two former Warby Parker employees who want to provide “first-class luggage at a coach price” directly to the consumer founded Away. The Away Carry-On (starting at $225) is a hard-shell, rolling suitcase with 360-degree wheels, a 10,000 mAh battery, two USB ports, a water-resistant exterior and a TSA-approved combination lock.

For those unsure about using a carry-on as their main travel bag, Away utilizes a compression bag and plate to squeeze more clothes in. The scratch-resistant outer shell also comes in a variety of colors, as well as two sizes.
