Europe and, to a lesser extent, the United States are seeing the rise in transparent dome camping that allows those that rent the space for the night to enjoy nature in all its splendor. The spaces are completely translucent and allow for unparalleled views of your surroundings. It should be pointed out the phenomenon is not going to suit the modest or those that value their privacy as the same tent that allows you to see everything allows others to see you. This is not the one-way mirror of a police interrogation room, but rather, an inflatable, durable plastic environment more reminiscent of a luxury hotel room than a tent in the forest.
But once you’ve gotten over that “you’re not alone” feeling, these goldfish bowls are a unique way to take in your surroundings with an unfettered look into the night sky and all its offerings. The bulk of these new dwellings spread through France, but can be found in new countries every month.
The critically acclaimed French designer Pierre Stephane Dumas said his BubbleTree creations are “unusual huts for unusual nights.”
Campers are treated to his creations in king-sized bed comfort at a number of Attrap Reves sites throughout France with dozens more sites presently planned.
If Spain is more your cup of tea, the Hotel Aire de Bardenas offers luxury bubble camping in the heart of the Bardenas Reales Natural Park.
