Tips / Travel

If you find yourself on the road often, but still want a healthy, home-cooked meal, there’s no reason you can’t fix one up in your hotel room. Okay, there are actually plenty of reasons, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible!

Bring a Portable Stove

You can buy a portable camping or travel stove online to take with you on the road. Be extra cautious when using one in a hotel room, but as long as you keep your eyes on it and use your brain you won’t burn the place down.

Keep It Simple

You probably won’t be working up any crab-stuffed lobster tails in your hotel room, but there’s nothing stopping you from making a little balsamic chicken to whet your taste buds. Don’t think too big when it comes to hotel cooking, and keep ingredients to a minimum — like five.

Prep Ahead

Many meals can be prepared ahead of time and warmed up in the room, so do the heavy lifting at home and pack along some dry ice in a sealed container with your food, then heat it up when you find a place to rest your head.

Innovate

While you might not want to inform the staff of your plans, there are other uses for those coffeemakers and irons already stocked in the room. You can easily make rice or couscous with the coffee maker and some water, while the iron is great for whipping up toast or grilled cheese.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
