Lightweight backpacking gear can be preventatively expensive. Luckily, Olicamp made an outstanding stove and pot combination that retails for just around $55.
For this great price, you’ll get a lightweight cooking system that works beautifully, even in the harshest conditions. The XTS pot weighs just 6.7 ounces while the Electron stove clocks in at just 3.9 ounces. There’s also a small scrubber included in the kit, and it all packs down beautifully, with the scrubber and stove fitting inside the lidded pot.
The lid fits snuggly over the lip of the pot to ensure its security, and it has a small slit to allow steam to escape. This is also convenient if you’re boiling pasta, for example, and need to pour out the extra water without losing your dinner to the forest floor.
The approximate boil time using the pot is two minutes for 16 ounces of water, which is remarkably fast. The stove’s prongs have ridges to help with stabilization of the pot, which works well if you simply find a flat surface on which to cook.
Overall, this is an outstanding pot and stove combination, highly recommended for backpacking purposes.
