Travelers are looking to buses for travel more so than ever considering the comfort, inexpensive prices and flexibility of schedules. The next time you choose to travel by bus, follow these tips for a safer, more comfortable ride.
Pack lightly
The safest way to travel by bus is to pack everything in a smaller bag you can take on the bus with you, rather than tossing your belongings into the storage compartment beneath the bus. If you must pack more, opt for hard-cased luggage that won’t get damaged during twists and turns on the road. On the bus, keep your belongings close to you and never out of sight.
Get cozy
If you plan to sleep on the bus, bring along a neck pillow and wear layers. Some buses blast the air conditioning, especially in the summer. A sweater or scarf can serve as a blanket and a neck pillow can provide comfort. Also, grabbing a seat closer to the front of the bus may mean more legroom.
Prepare
Research reputable bus companies and take the reviews seriously. Pack some snacks in case the trip hits unplanned traffic or does not have time for rest stops. Although some modern buses are equipped with outlets for electronics, charge all your devices before you board in case of an unexpected outage. Safe travels!
