While Starbucks might be the most famous Seattle beverage, don’t overlook the city’s many traditional and up-and-coming breweries.
Fremont Brewing Company
Founded in 2009, Fremont Brewing Company quickly made its mark as one of Seattle’s most popular breweries. The family-owned brewery prides itself on brewing artisan beers utilizing local ingredients. Its urban beer garden is open 11 a.m.–9 p.m. daily.
Georgetown Brewing Company
Georgetown Brewing Company opened in 2002. The most popular brew, Manny’s Pale Ale, is also one of Seattle’s original craft beers. The beer is so popular, in fact, it makes up 70 percent of Georgetown Brewing’s beer production.
Ghostfish Brewing
Ghostfish Brewing is the first and only dedicated gluten-free brewery in Washington state. The brewery uses gluten-free grains like millet and buckwheat in its beer production. In addition to beers, Ghostfish offers a full-service restaurant boasting a gluten-free menu, of course.
Pike Brewing Company
Pike Brewing Company got its start in 1989, before the craft beer trend exploded. The brewery is located in the historic Pike Place Market neighborhood. Pike Brewery focuses on seven year-round beers, including Space Needle IPA, with seasonal offerings throughout the year.
Schooner Exact Brewing Company
Schooner Exact Brewing Company specializes in creative, limited-release offerings. Sours and barrel-aged options are among the most popular. Open daily, the brewery also serves as a restaurant complete with brunch service.
