Staycations are a great way to get to know your city better. Personal finance site Wallethub looked at 182 cities across 40 categories, like movie and bowling costs, spas and wellness centers, to calculate the most fun yet budget-friendly cities in the United States for a staycation.
Orlando
Home to Disney World and other theme parks, Orlando came out on top. Orlando also ranked No. 1 for food and entertainment, no surprise given the sheer number of options here for family-fun parks.
Honolulu
The Hawai’ian capital scored well in categories like recreation, no doubt due to opportunities afforded by its beaches. Similarly, it scored well for its relaxation factor.
Chicago
The city scored first place for recreation, with options like Navy Pier, Lakefront Trail, Willis Tower and more.
Seattle
The Emerald City scored well in the recreation and food and entertainment categories, which helped bring up its low-ranking in the “relaxation” category. Visitors and locals alike enjoy spending time at attractions like the Great Wheel and Pike Place Market, as well as the area’s numerous biking and hiking trails.
Portland
The Oregon city, known for its scenic surroundings and great food, scored well in the recreation and food and entertainment categories.
