In a city known for some of the world´s best cuisine, it can seem difficult for vegans to find dishes that do not include the reputable duck, beef and cheese for which France is so well known. Vegans are in luck in Paris; however, as the City of Lights boasts some incredible dining options for this specific diet. A big city like Paris means international food is around every corner. Check out some of the local and foreign food at the hot spots below.
L’As du Fallafel
Get your Middle Eastern food fix with some falafel at this centrally located spot that often has a long line, but one that moves quickly. Touted as the best falafel in the world, the inexpensive chickpea delight is worth a try.
Hank Vegan Burger
A few blocks away from Centre Pompidou is this vegan burger joint that piles its organic vegan steaks with ingredients such as tortilla chips, coriander sauce, or tomato-basil sauce, all in between gluten-free bread. Opt for vegan cheese as well for the ultimate burger experience.
Le Potager du Marais
After traveling all the way to Paris, vegans may want to dive into the meat- and cheese-heavy local cuisine. Le Potager features French favorites in vegan versions, such as crêpes and French onion soup. Reservations are recommended for this busy restaurant.
La Veganovore
All the vegetable bowls, soups and desserts on La Veganovore’s menu are made in house with only local ingredients. The portions are large enough to take away, meaning two great meals for the price of one!
Your neighborhood boulangerie
Stop by the nearest bakery and grab a baguette, along with some veggies from an outdoor market. Pack your own picnic and head to one of the many parks around the city for your own vegan feast.
