The Toronto International Film Festival in Ontario is one the most low-key and accessible film festivals of the year. This star-studded event lasts 11 days filled with film premieres, fine dining, night clubbing and possible elbow rubbing with the rich and famous.
Now 40 years old, the Toronto International Film Festival screens more than 300 films and hosts nearly 500,000 fans. The swanky, downtown Bell Lightbox complex offers a unique venue for events, cocktails and fine dining for celebs and film buffs alike.
There are more than just films to enjoy at the Toronto affair with a gala, red carpet and plenty of after-hour parties.
Tickets for the event are sold in advance or at the box office for $25 a movie or $48 for premium screenings. Additionally, there are a variety of advance tickets sold on TIFF’s website guaranteeing viewers primetime film exposure, red carpet events, gala entry and more.
The films are broken down into categories of special presentations; and midnight madness showcasing horror, action and cult films; to documentaries and experimental films.
Each year, TIFF chooses a city to showcase films set in the chosen city and even offers children’s films for young movie-buffs from international cartoons, shorts and more.
