Those with a serious case of wanderlust may start to resent the time they spend at work. For digital nomads, this problem doesn’t exist, as they can work from wherever they want. Thanks to the internet, there are a huge number of professions you can perform on the road.

If you want to become a digital nomad, you’ll need some relevant skills. Luckily, there are a number of training opportunities available online. Many of the courses are free to access, including those at Wherever Writer and Sassy Zen Girl. Other paid courses are available on online learning portal Udemy, including “How to Become a Digital Nomad” and “Become a Digital Nomad.” Other sites worth checking out include Digital Nomad Academy and Digital Nomads.

All of these online courses will prepare you for life as a digital nomad. However, it is important you have a skill you can use to keep yourself going on the road. Aside from studying a university degree or vocational course in web design, coding, graphic design or another digital nomad-friendly profession, you can also take online courses.

Coursera, EdX and Skillfeed all offer courses in a wide variety of subjects. Decide what you want to work as, learn how to do it and prepare for life on the road as a digital nomad.
