Log cabins have been an aspect of rustic lodging for centuries, but a new travel trend involves renting these antiquated abodes across the world to get back in touch with the human race’s natural roots.
City dwellers are booking these tiny countryside homes for a night or multiple nights and are enjoying small spaces set in larger-than-life locales. Remote cabins are miles away from computer screens and mobile devices, and return humans to a world of simplicity with a dose of comfort. By disconnecting with the digital world and reconnecting with nature, travelers are able to truly let go of stress and immerse themselves in natural serenity.
Although older cabins cater to the vintage vibe, newer cabins are popping up worldwide and feature modern amenities to appease visitors who may feel like the wild (sans electronic devices) is a bit too wild. Cabins in the woods and in forests put nature at the foot of your door, but you don’t have to wander too far backward to a place of comfort and shelter. Hardcore campers may consider cabins a posh way of reconnecting with nature, but a roof over your head and an indoor fireplace are sometimes necessities for city folk who are accustomed to a certain level of luxury, albeit in small spaces.
