Under $100 / North America

Ibiza is synonymous with electronic music, pool parties and late nights of debauchery. But there is more to this tiny Mediterranean island than bumping beats and little to no sleep. Visiting Ibiza on a budget is best accomplished during the off-season, from October to April. Hotels and restaurants will not only be cheaper but they will also be less crowded, providing a more authentic taste of the Balearic Island.

Along the sea, perch yourself at Mumak for a fueling breakfast and people watching on the boardwalk. After a traditional Spanish breakfast, start your day by meandering through the streets of Old Town Ibiza where alleyways feature a myriad of sidewalk cafés and shops.

Head up the small hill to Dalt Vila, a walled city of winding streets, whitewashed homes and incomparable views. Stop for a coffee and light lunch just inside the walls at S´Escalinata where the patio seating is made up of beanbags on stadium-style steps.

Continue climbing the steep passageways to Catedral de Santa Maria where entrance is free to view the Gothic and Baroque interior.

As the afternoon sets in, make your way west for a few relaxing hours on the beaches of Playa de Ses Salines. Accessible only by car or bus, the sands are tucked away from the rest of the city yet restaurants surround the beach making the Mediterranean sunset from this beach a perfect finale to your day.
