Frequent United Airlines travelers have a lot to look forward to next summer. In May 2025, United will launch what it’s calling the largest international expansion in its history, with service to eight new cities.
United will offer non-stop flights from Newark (EWR) to Nuuk, Greenland (GOH); Palermo, Italy (PMO); Bilbao, Spain (BIO); Madeira Island, Portugal (FNC); and Faro, Portugal (FAO). All of these are destinations no other U.S. airline currently serves.
Also in May 2025, the airline will kick off new service between Washington, D.C. (IAD) and Dakar, Senegal (DSS); Nice, France (NCE); and Venice, Italy (VCE). The Dakar route is a first for United Airlines.
Next summer also promises earlier start dates for seasonal flights to destinations such as Venice, Athens (ATH) and Barcelona (BCN), as well as more overall seasonal flights to destinations such as Athens and Dubrovnik (DBV).
Other to-come, first-for-a-U.S.-airline flights include direct flights between Tokyo (NRT) and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (ULN), and between Tokyo and Kaohsiung (KHH).
With all of these additions, during the summer of 2025, United will offer 760 weekly flights.
“No other airline gives customers non-stop access to as many unique international destinations and experiences from the U.S. as United,” said Patrick Quayle, senior vice president, global network planning and alliances, United Airlines. “Our network provides the most choice and variety for our customers, whether they are looking for a relaxing seaside getaway, once-in-a-lifetime adventure travel or to explore some of the most vibrant urban escapes across the globe.”
