Pet travel can be just as stressful for you as it is for your pet, but one worry you should never have is your pet’s safety. United’s PetSafe program can ease your anxieties by ensuring your pet will receive the utmost in care, following strict transportation guidelines to keep four-legged passengers healthy and happy.
After you hand your pet to the trained and qualified PetSafe staff, they’ll be whisked away to a climate-controlled warehouse facility, where they will remain in a kennel until boarding time. Rain, shine, cold or heat, all weather conditions are taken into consideration when boarding your pet. In fact, pets are the last cargo loaded onto the plane before departure and the first cargo unloaded upon arrival. If the flight has a connection which would result in your pet being exposed to temperatures of more than 85 degrees Fahrenheit for more than 45 minutes, your pet will be transported to the waiting aircraft in special, climate-controlled vehicles by professional handlers.
Once at the destination, your pet is transported to another holding facility until you can pick them up. If you have any schedule changes and are unable to arrange for your pet’s pick up at a reasonable time, kenneling is available either at on-site or off-site kennels, depending upon the airport.
