Valentine’s Day is on Sunday, making for convenient weekend plans and more options available for those who partake. For a break from the usual dinner, chocolates and flowers, take a daytrip away and explore.

One unique way for a nature-loving couple to spend their holiday could be on a Wolf Sanctuary. Couples can reserve a private tour, or go with a group and be guided through the reservation meeting all 40 wolves. Tour guides take guests from pack to pack explaining the different wolves and their history.

To make the trip more Valentine’s Day, explore the surrounding area and stay at the Speedwell Forge B&B for a relaxing end to an outdoorsy day.

For an active weekend, go skiing in Colorado and stay at the Keystone Resort. Without sparing luxury, the Keystone is one of the more affordable spa resorts in the area. For the holiday weekend, rooms range from $269–329 a night, but are all beautiful and cozy. Once the spa trips and ski lifts start flowing, things can get a bit pricey, but the overall trip will be breathtaking and memorable.

For anyone whose New Year’s resolution was to go all out and treat themselves, Valentine’s Day on Celebrity Cruises should do the trick. Seven nights and eight days of hoping from one gorgeous island to the next with luxury accommodations is a great way to celebrate. Prices range from $1,799 a person and the trip begins Feb. 13 and ends Feb. 20, so luxury travelers will have to act fast.
